Question and Answers

What's a normal holiday tip or thank you gift for your mail person, trash collectors, etc.? Who all should be on the holiday tip list?

I need good karma and service going in to the new year. Thoughts and suggestions are much appreciated.

apparently, a number of those individuals - trash, mail, etc - are not allowed to accept gifts/cash of any kind. tried a couple years ago.

Great question, wish I had an exact answer. They definitely accept cash on the East. In NYC there are crazy rates, but now in the 'burbs I have tipped anywhere from $20-60 (each) for UPS, Postman and garbage.

I give our trash guys each a $20 bill at Christmas. Seem to appreciate it...they take anything I can get to the curb!

Is this a "northern California" thing???? Who tips/gifts their trash guy, mail guy, etc. Isn't it their job to do these things. I think a simple thank you card would do, but maybe I am just cheap. :) Ha! Ha!
